Picture this: you’ve spent countless hours crafting the perfect pitch for your client to be featured on a popular podcast. You send your message with your fingers crossed, only to hear silence. Frustrating.

As a podcast host, I’ve seen it all too often: agents making critical mistakes that interfere with their chances of landing coveted guest spots for their clients. How can you up your game and create a better sales pitch to podcasters? Let’s see what we can do!

I’m sharing six common blunders agents make and advise you on what to do instead. Settle in and ensure your next pitch leaves hosts clamoring to have your clients on their shows.

Mistake 1: Hide your request

Some agent emails fail to clarify this simple request: Have my client on your show.

Some agents describe their client’s expertise and ask for a follow-up call. Yet, they don’t clarify that the email is about getting their client a podcast guest spot!
